Social Impact
Positive social impact has always been at the heart of Helium Capital, and is a driving force for our founder, Shamir Dawood.
Through financial contributions, volunteering, lobbying, and community engagement, Dawood has been active in championing an end to homelessness, the key issue at the heart of his work. With a solid understanding of the housing landscape and its current shortcomings, as well as the type of investment strategy needed to improve it, he leverages strategic investment to support the creation of safe, accessible housing.
Our work with Crisis
The main recipient of Helium Capital’s active philanthropic support is Crisis, and their Housing Access Fund.
Our support has made an impact to over 600 people at Crisis’ central London Skylight by helping them start or complete their journey out of homelessnes for good. Our social mission is for everyone everywhere to have access to a safe, suitable, and secure home. We measure our impact using HM Treasury’s Green Book principals: in 2025, we’ll have saved the public purse over £1.7m..
